About Us

LGL Tree Farm LLC

LGL Tree Farm LLC is rooted from a long family tradition of agriculture. Owner Richard Lauger, who had already built a successful landscape company operating from 1986 to 2016, brought his farming background and entrepreneurial drive to a new venture when he acquired 22 acres to start the tree farm in 2005.

Richard’s only son, Travis Lauger, joined his father's landscape company "Lauger's Good Lawn" in 1993 and later graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Horticulture. He went on to earn his certification as a Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturalist (#810). Travis quickly developed a strong passion for the tree farm and played a key role in its expansion.

For several years, Richard and Travis operated both the landscape company and the tree farm simultaneously. In January 2016, they made the strategic decision to sell the landscape company and dedicate themselves full-time to tree farming.

Today, LGL Tree Farm has grown far beyond its original acreage. Richard and Travis continue to actively acquire land and now cultivate evergreen trees across 140 acres. The farm plants approximately 12,000 seedlings each year, reflecting their commitment to quality, sustainability, and long-term growth.

Together, the family’s combined efforts—across generations—ensure that LGL Tree Farm remains a thriving, family‑owned and operated business. Owners Richard (wife LouAnn), along with Travis (wife Jennifer), each contribute in their own way, through leadership, labor, and dedication to daily operations, long‑term planning, customer service, and advertising. Their children—Riley, Logan, Angelina and Kennedy—actively support the farm through hands‑on work, seasonal help, and a growing understanding of the values that sustain the family business. Through the commitment of every family member, its growth remains sustainable, and its legacy of hard work, community, and shared purpose continues to help the family farm flourish.
